My SO (She Rulez!):inlove: got it for my B-Day last year Aug. Only used it now coz twas gonna expire! Was good I waited coz 2 my surprise was greeting by a fleet of grey F30 328i Sport’s (6Spd Manual’s)! :=): I was expecting e90 330i’s!

Met @ the Valmore Hotel / Conference centre, pretty styling..
Really wanted to drive the F30 328i 4pot 180kw since its launch, So was really stoked about that!

Usual driver briefing etc, then 1st exercise is braking in the wet without any aids @ around 70-80 . . .
It’s pretty scary how far you ski if you just plant the brakes! (Lucky all of us got ABS, so we don’t need to deal with that) :)

2nd is braking with no aids but tapping off brakes to avoid an obstacle, and 3rd one was the test with Aids Activated.

As soon as you on the Skipad its automatic Smiles! It breaks traction pretty easily.:) I thought was pretty Fun, ESP when you coming back to the starting point, can really get the ass out, control the “Slide” with ur right foot and steering inpit, that was lots of fun and the instructor gives you liberty to Hoon it! :joy: (lotsa ppl Cooked it)

Got to test drive the F30 about 3kms back to the venue. 328i Sport is Great, (No M Badges Anywhere Sank! :=): ). Start Stop Tech even works with the Manual! Sounds better from the outside than inside. Balanced Car. Def way more refined. Goes not too bad also, Claimed 0-100 in 5.9? Quick enuf, just don’t expect it to feel like a N54/N55 (I’ll always be a 6pot Slut! :) ) Interior is huge improvement over e90.
But also Very $$$ (Like R450k+). Those who have the F30 now are Lucky. Makes a Great Daily Driver!

Still Love my e46 Tho . . . :inlove:
Hope all that I learnt is embedded into my driving ability forever.

Next step, > > > BMW High Performance Driving with their Hot Silver Grey e92 M3 (With Style 359M’s)

If you thinking about it, just Book it and get it done

Some Pics From the Day . . .. >>>>

The drift around the cones exercise is pretty difficuly isnt it? Mostly the men over cook it and the ladies dont get it sideways.

How did you fare? Get it all the way around sideways??

Congrats. Glad u had fun. I've been meaning to do the advanced driver training for a while now.

I think that to do the ///M course, you have to own an ///M. If I remember correctly non ///M owners drive in 335I's.

@ rhett325: Dont think I fair'd too badly in the start the slide was shortish and wild, but once I hooked it almost all the way,, ahh the Satisfaction :) Never hit any cones also :)

That ///M Course sounds great!
Must find out more info on that. . .

Every Fanatic here in JHB / PTA should try it out .. . The High Performance 1 being the 1st option if funds are good :)

I think the course I done was around R1,3k

Dude, the F30s are nice, but your E46 is very slick! I'd take the 6pack in the E46 anyday! The frameless doors on the coupes are just :praise: and I used to love those rear windows that can open on some models, really cool.

Definitely would like to try this some time.

Thanks Yeah the Frame-less Doors I like :) Tilt windows are nice in winter :)
I think some Scooby Impreza Sedans even came with Frame-less Doors ?

If I was loaded, I'd prob have an F30 as a daily drive, super smooth!

Looks like a ton of fun, and definitely a nice surprise seeing those F30 328's there. Those engines are a real piece of work.

How was the manual gearbox? All the launches were really pushing the auto (great box), but haven't see a manual yet.

Gearbox was Smooth,6 Speed!, can't compare it to the 8Speed AT, coz I haven't driven one . . .
Never knew Start Stop Tech was on a 3 pedal . . .

I'm biased tho, I'll always opt for 3 Pedals. .. :=):
