Hi guys

This week was the first time I drove a diesel BMW and i'm actively looking at buying one.

Is a 2010 model good to look at or should i look at something newer? It obviously has to be a LCI.

I am reading alot about the diesels so far and what hear from the dealers they are quiet popular? e.g don't last long before the dealer sells it. why is this?

Tell me that i should not buy a diesel and why because it looks like i will be driving one pretty soon.

Diesel is always a sensible buy, just do the common checks and make sure car was reguarly serviced , mileage not to high , check motorplan for any comments on the car etc

Be sure to post pics once you have it , you will enjoy the car no two ways about that.

How many guys drive theirs without MP?

Can someone please explain to me the issues regarding the N47 engine timing chain issues? Is the LCI also affected?

Thanks

Why u should not
*They Getting too quick for oil burners :yuck:
*They super on consumption :thumbdo:
*Bullet proof engines :nonono:
*Its the mature thing to do :flyfun:

I love diesels, for everyone else but me (that's cos I'm still wet in die kop).
I really want to fault them cause I can't bring myself to own one but in honesty, the diesels around me (Family n friends) are super cars

Went from a e90 320i Pre-LCI to a 320d LCI and I am absolutely loving the car...bought mine just as the MP expired,so I extended for another year, just for that peace of mind!!!

The BMW diesels are excellent vehicles!!
If you can manage it, go for a 330d, you'll get use to the power of the 320d to fast...and then you will want to chip ect...so rather start with a car with more than enough juice on tap!!

Happy hunting
