Hi
I am interested in the older BMW's and on a whim paid R4000.00 for a very clean one owner 1973 E3 3.0L automatic, non fuel injection. The catch is that the seller lost the cylinder head when he sent it in for engineering, so I have a car without an engine.
Which cylinder head would be compatible with my car - an early non injected 525/528 perhaps - where would I buy one in the Gauteng KZN area, and what would one typically cost?

I am fanatical about originality so the carbs will stay, unless there is a very good reason to change to injection.

Is there an E3 registry in South Africa?

Many thanks

First, welcome to our community, George!
That is a nice find that you got, pity about the motor. It does make it a bit more difficult since you want to stay original and my best bet would be to say scrapyards, but not likely in SA. Would have been no problem if you'd be willing to pop a newer generation BMW engine in there though.

Have you got some pictures of the car?
