Hey there Ralf,
Got an SMS stating imminent storm with hail in Randburg

Any info regarding this

looking at the 75KM radius Irene Radar image, there is a small cell approaching from the west, behind it is a larger cell, south of Rustenberg, so very far away at this stage.

looking at the Irene Radar 300km radius image there seems to be a lot more hectic weathe right on the Vaal river and just south of the Vaal river, moving eastwards.

just having a look at the most recent Irene image, some red contours now in the area north of Hartebeespoort dam towards Brits

another cell with red contours out Delmas way

nothing in the greater JHB/Ekurhuleni region

looks like something "sneaked up" from the storms over the VAAL, just skirting Springs and moving northwards to Bapsfontein

Another cell over Brits area, moving towards PTA north, seems to have lost some steam, but still strong enough for a bit of heavy rain

one massive thunderstorm stretching from Gaberone right thru Gauteng to Villiers/Franfort

its gonna rain, might rain hard with lightning, but the contours are not in the dangerous zone, so my personal feeling is that it won't "hail"

slightly more intense contour colours out towards Springs/Heidelberg way

currently the storm leading edge is Springs thru Alberton to Soweto...moving east to north-east
