Only 3inch rain in Rivonia. Yes, the drops were 3 inches apart from each other.

Ok so something seems to have developed in the meantime, been headsdown doing the "paying suppliers" thingy and haven't had time to surf the net, but I see its getting darker behind me.

Hail in Randburg right now :fencelook:

latest Image doesn't support the theory, the cloud is too small and its contours are not deep into the "red-scale"....but with weather anything is possible.

I suspect that the hail in Randburg is very small...Chef ? :fencelook:

Gauteng is currently on the tailend of the weather system

further north towards Warmbath/Thabzimbi it looks a lot worse

on the Irene 75KM image shows some "red" contours to the north of Culinan

It is a very thin line of thunderstorms, will be over with in a flash

On Irene 300km range shows a very active thundercell right over the Vaal Dam, and another one out rustenberg way

on Irene radar 75km shows how thin the line of weather actually is, a bit of yellow contour which isn't serious, but as mentioned above small hail....moving roughly along the Alberton-Boksburg-Springs route

Freak storm here in boksburg

Lasted about 2 minutes with heavy rain.

Bit of hail, quite a bit, but nothing serious enough to do damage.

two distinct bands of thunderstorms

1st band just about touching Pretoria on the south, stretching northwards passed Brits to Warmbaths

2nd line of weather along the Vaal, developing around Dennysville, maturing towards Standerton

Where is our local weather man....

Rumoured hail here in the East Rand, with the sky dark blue..

Chances are that this may not be pretty....
