phewww...I am done for
my last weather image update showed the main storm moving off towards Petit/Bapsfontein/PTA east, but little did I know that that thundercell had a last dying breath, and unusually re-formed on its trailing edge.
then the lightning hit, and gone was the ADSL, I managed to view an image on my Samsung tab, before the freight train came in, that image showed that now it was everywhere, with no area's really in the clear.
5 minutes of noise so loud I couldn't hear the dog barking.
Damage
1)Electric fence ripped
2)IBR sheeting on garage roof clogged with so much hail, that it was pouring water all over into my usually dry garage,
3)Main gutters clogged with hail that water overflowed into the ceiling, drip drip drip in the main bedroom.
4)Swimming pool totally covered in shrapnel from the trees and shrubs (looked like hartebeespoort dam)
5)Garden in general ripped to shreds...(at least nature always rebounds)
Spent the last 2hours skimming the swimming pool, sweeping the paving around the pool, skimming the Koi pond, on the roof sweeping the IBR sheeting and the gutters clean, repairing the electric fence bobbins
what a night.
At least no cracked or broken windows, or damaged cars
at least Leonard's prayers for a bumper christmas have been answered....looks like I am in the wrong business...today the shop did a grand total of R600 trade....not good for trying to pay the bills
