Really hectic thunder in the Randburg area now.

Lightning hit the house three times I think. Tv went weird and I heard a moerse cracking sound. Almost kakked in my pants. How my PC survived I dunno. Unplugged it for now.

A big red core has appeared in a thundercell, currently north of ORTambo moving towards the south-eastern suburbs of PTA

Storm started in Randparkridge at 23h30 and very quickly got intense.
Hail and strong winds was the order of the night

thundery cells out towards Sasolburg, and another one Heidelberg towards Delmas.
the current darkening in JHB might produce a drop or two only

NOPE...nothing noteworthy on the radar....yet
little storm cell out west of Krugersdorp, looks like rain only, and of short duration, moving eastwards towards ORT, will take at least 2hrs to get here

Radar for Irene indicates that a thundercell with "RED" contours within is approaching Gauteng from NW of Hartebeespoort, moving SE towards Lanseria/Midrand/ORTambo

and the thundercell currently in the Nalmapius area also has tinges of "ORANGE" radar returns in it
