I was stuck in the shop, with no internet access, and was busy with potential buyers for the shop.

when I went outside many hours later it looked very dark

trust it was only lentil sized ice ?

No harm. Hail was around the size of a spherical 20c coin. But it was a lot.

Sheet of CirroStratus cloud (40 000ft +) thin layer mainly ice crystals (like the thin lace curtains in the home), causing refraction of the sun's rays to form a rainbow

a spot of "red" radar return (possible hail) from Pretoria NW towards PTA city centre...trend towards Irene
