Hi guys

I was wondering if anybody could share some insight on the water system on a E36.

I have flushed my radiator system with some cleaner however when I try full it back up the water doesn't flow through the system.

Fill as much as possible. Then.
Heater set to max.
Bleeder screw open.
Reservoir cap off.
Engine idling.

You should be able to youtube the bleed procedure

I have followed that procedure but water doesn't flow back into the water reservoir ,is that normal or is it safe to say water pump is dead?

Possibly. The only way to be certain would be to take it off. Bummer

I've heard those water pumps, depending on the make break impellers off. Thermostat stuck? Was it working before, did something happen to the cooling system that you draining etc? If it was working before dont see the water pupm suddenly going...

Otherwise GIZMO is the E36 expert.

Radiator shroud broke and pulled the pipe on the top of the radiator feeding the reservoir off So had to replace the shroud and that involves removing the reservoir and pipes so I decided to do a flush and then I got to this point, all seems fine now though as I filled tonight let it warm up then took her for a drive and all seems well
