Water Leak on Windscreen

Hi guys

I noticed that my windscreen leaks water when i go to the car wash.
It's on the left corner.

Did anyone have that problem before and what must i do to get it fixed?

I'm thinking maybe rubbers are gone, anyone replaced rubbers before?
I drive a 318 e46 2005

Thanks

Most probably the rubbers. Had this issue with one of my cars a while ago (ex E46 330i). The windscreen was replaced by the previous owner/dealer, but they used the same rubbers.

Normally, reputable windscreen places sell the rubbers with the windscreen, but some places reuse the same old rubber, which often causes leaks, etc.

A word of advice though: If you intend replacing the rubbers, be prepared to possibly replace the windscreen too, as there is always a risk of cracking/breaking when removing rubbers around an old windscreen.

The other option is to try to find the source of the leak and use some clear sealer to sort it out (if the rubber is not too badly damaged).

e46 windshields are suposed to be bonded in place, replacing the rubbers wont fix a leak. simply means that when they last fitted a windshield, they did not use enough sealant somewhere.. only real fix is to have it removed and re-installed.

otherwise try to work silicone into the leak if you can find it.. :dunno:

Went to PG glass in randburg and they quoted me R850 for a refit :dropjaw:

And like MSM said, they recon it might crack the glass.

So do i need to contact my insurance first?

Windscreen replacement cost R6000
