why doesn't it give a more specific bulb location, older BMW's used to tell you exactly which bulb is out ?
Is there not a way to go into the sub-menu of the OBD to find out ?

Check all your exterior lights. See pic from BMW owners manual below

Oops don't know why the image appears upside down. It was right way up when I took the pic with ipad

What's sometimes confusing is that if a bulb on one of the tail lights blow, another bulb might take over its place. For instance, if a brake light blows, it might use a park light for this function. So just check both tail lights when you depress brake, switch on lights or fogs.

Because older BMW's are just better :tease:

To check reverse lights, you can switch ignition on without starting and put the car into reverse. The lights will come on. The same can be done with the brakes if you can find something to hold the brake pedal down slightly if there's no one to help you. Something like a fire extinguisher.

Okay Guys
I got my wife to sit in the car, and everything works.

So I think what Gert says is happening.

Gert is there any way that we can pin point which globe it is, as the error light keeps popping up and my wife is getting scared :biglol:

I think the brake light bulbs required is x2 per tail light. Had same issue with my e60

Howsit.

My car used to give that light on the dash and all lights were working.

Car went for a service at Ross Duncan and he replaced the rear globes. Light was gone after that.

Just replace your rear globes.

Thanks Gert.
She is due for a oil service so I will get Mo to check it and if he don't come right I will bring it pass Gert.

Thanks for all the responses, guys, I will advise what it was once repaired.

Guarantee it the lights on the boot, check also fog light! Be careful with the fittings they get brittle over time from the heat of the globes and break. Sometimes a globe gets a bit old or corrodes at the fitting, this gives the system a resistance error even though the globe works.

Hi Guys
Car Is back from service

There was 2 globes that were discoloured on the brakes .
Changed those and clean the terminals and error gone.
