Wanted - Original Mini Cooper S

Please try help me out. Im looking for an original Mini Cooper S.

The 1971 or newer version...

I'm happy to pay up to R50 000 for one. If you know of anyone selling or where I can find these it would be greatly appreciative.

I think I need to educate myself on the heritage of these cars.

Mike, we have one of our rep cars (Polo 2.0 FSI) with 185,000 on the clock, 2005 model going for bout 60k.

I am getting it in this afternoon, and I am going to take it around to get cover prices, but thats not a bad price, KM's are long distance KM's as well.

I have spoken to a Mini specialist today and will be ordering a brand new Mini Cooper S. Hehe

Essentially it is a 1971 body with new sub frame etc etc, new engine, new everything. Its essentially a brand new car.

I am going to check the body this afternoon to confirm that I am happy and it will cost me R50 000 and will take just over a month to build.

The car will have disc brakes, new interior, headliner and has just been resprayed etc etc.

The company showed me an example of a finished "new" 1971 Cooper S and it is awesome. Great quality and funky looks.

So once I check the body this afternoon I will place my order and wait for my toy car to arrive.

Soooo excited! Im gonna own an original Mini!

Its awesome... He showed me one of the cars he was building and its amazing the amount of effort and attention to detail that goes into it.

The car should cost about R70 000 from scratch but the specialist had the order... And the person who placed the order cancelled. Obviously you place a 50% deposit on the car when you order. Thats why I am scoring it at R50 000. Its a bargain.

So is this like a kit car? or do they build it up from refurbed parts?

The shell is original and the parts are all either brand new (like the engine is 100% new) or where new parts cant be used it is refurbed.

Thats why I am so keen.

Why spend R50 000 on a beat up Ford Ka or Opel Corsa when I can get a fully restored and virtually brand new Cooper S.

And its the original Cooper S. I cant wait
