thought this was new one?Maybe if they compared the new RS5 (whenever that comes out) to the G80 M3 it might be a closer race as essentially, this result was inevitable.
You're probably right, or more like M4 vs RS5, coupe vs coupe, from a class perspective then..But RS5 should be compared to G80 M3 in terms of technical specs..my 2 cents
My thoughts exactly - an M4comp is around R500k over the RS5 base vs base? Wild to compare. But again, literally anyone who buys a new (ugly M4/M3) over a 992 911 really is a special individual. I like BMW plenty and even if the M car was R200 or R300k less. I'd struggle to justify.Oh so were are ignoring price again... but when we compare the M3/4 to a non-base 911 the Porsche is in a different price class?
Go through whatever mental gymnastics suit - whether on price or performance these are no longer good value by any stretch of the imagination

Your view on pricing is a good one for sure. Only reason I didn't comment on price is I suspect a new model RS5 will be priced to suit it's direct rivals.Oh so were are ignoring price again... but when we compare the M3/4 to a non-base 911 the Porsche is in a different price class?

Yeah we can compare the price of an M3 or RS5 to a Porsche, in terms of "buck per performance" and the Porsche wins hands down, but in terms of "buck for practicality" there is nothing better than a family saloon that rivals purpose built sport cars. I'm sure that is how many people justify the spend. Why buy two vehicles, a sports car and family car, when you can buy one with a little bit of best of both worlds.Oh so were are ignoring price again... but when we compare the M3/4 to a non-base 911 the Porsche is in a different price class?
