Vibration on wheels at 140 upwards

Where do you feel the vibration?
Steering only
Whole car
@140 what's your rpm?
Things I've learned over the years with similar effects.
Out of round tyres
Flat spots
The rear flange on the propshaft.
If you get the problem sorted please report back.:coolShake:

Steering only. But the hum/drone gets louder as i brake.

Check your front rims if they not buckled,i wasted a lot of money replacing bearings,diffs,tires because of vibrations and lound humming noise,but only to find out it was my rim

my suggestion is to always go from cheapest investigation to most expensive solution

so firstly

1) Check balancing
2) Check rims for buckle's
3) Check tyres for being "out-of round"
4) Whilst the wheels are off (for balancing) inspect the brake disks
5) Consider having the disks skimmed if they are still within allowable spec for smimming
6) Check suspension components for signs of "apparant movement" and wear-n-tear
7) only now start considering the exponencially increasing costs of replacing suspension components

I had this exact problem for 6 weeks now, tried everything, balanced countless times and tried different tire guys, until Sunday I fitted new discs and Ballance and aligned on Monday, problem solved. Something I didn't know is that when balancing is being done and you have a msport, they need to chance the machine setup to the different J size of your rear wheels.

I once had a bad vibe on my 530i and took it in for balancing. There was a nasty wood screw in one tyre. After that was fixed all was well. I guess an extra bit of metal will throw the balance out.

What is the J of the stock Individual wheel? Style 68 so I can have that checked.

What tyre brand did you fit?
are they V tread?
With regards to the humming sound , I encounterd the same issue when I just bought my 1 series,
I was told it could be my diff or buckled wheels.
It had bridgestones on the front and brand new “Wanlis” at the rear.
I changed all to bridgestones and viola! Humming gone!

I've put Nexen NFera's. They are the same tread as my rears which are Conti's.
