Vanos seals

Hi to everyone. Thought I would share this with you chaps. I wanted to fit new seals to the vanos units in my 4,4ltr. V8 X5. Only because I thought I heard a rattle one morning at startup. BMW agents here quoted me R7,000 per unit, (there are two) just for parts. So I did some searching on the web and found this site. (Speak to Moranor@Axis on this forum)

I ordered the seal kits plus some extra Teflon rings and paid them via PayPal. I got a message back within hours, that they had refunded me $34-00 as I had overpaid on the shipping charges. I was also given a tracking number so I can check where my package is. So far I've paid for 2x Teflon rings and 2x seal kits $160-00. Thats about R1320 which is very different to R14,000. They also have magnificent "how to" pages with piles of photo's and tips on how to fit the seals. I'm going to get someone else do the fitting as I'm a bit nervous about tackling the job.
Thought I would mention them here as they appear to be a good company and they do seals for a whole range of BMW's
Hope it helps someone who needs seals doing on their vanos units.
Cheers.

Ah, thanks for the responses. Hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes with this post. If I am, it was not intentional. I wonder why the company didn't refer me to moranor directly. Anyway, sounds as though they are a good product so can't wait to fit them.

No problem Bemused.

We want members to give us feedback on things they have seen or tried & if we have a local sponsor then we refer the member and all is good. We will never know all the business links. But i think our members must always try our advertisers first and one might be lucky that they have the stock available and be assured of the installation support if anything goes wrong.

Keep us updated on the fitment.
