So it looks like the valve stem seals on my E90 320i would need to be replaced as i am seeing smoke after idling a few minutes on pull away...Question is...it it necessary to replace it immediately or can I drive another 2 Months or so with the car...also is there any good RMI approved bmw machies in Cape Town that I can consult?

Would appreciate some help..

On my ex 320i I drove for nearly a year on valve stem seals that were shot. In my car the oil usage increased as time went by. Got to a stage where it was a liter per tank. Traded it in before fixing it :=):

what freakaziod said, you can drive the car like that but oil usage and smoke out your exhaust pipe will increase as time goes on until you fix it.

Just keep checking your oil level though you don't want a vale-stem replacement to turn into an engine or head replacement.
