V-Belt replacement intervals?

Hi all,

Is there any defined period when the v-belt should be changed?

Perhaps time based due to age, or would it be mileage dependent?

Lastly, is it necessary to change the tensioner and guide pulleys at the same time?

I'm specifically thinking about my 130i, but the question can be relevant across models (and makes).

Hi, you replace them when necessary. Check for cracks in the belt and when you remove the belt check if the pulleys are noisy or sound dry. No fixed intervals as such.

At Hyundai We change all belts at 90k.
