Nice thread.
My take is the following.
some of these are nice but we tend to get to attached and reliant on things.
It makes us lazy and we rely to much on these things.
Simple example.
How many people actually know a wife or friend etc telephone number? we so use to speed dail.
I even know people that dont know their own numbers. Wtf.
I gave up several creature comforts going from gopher to (the crap) to the I30 and now the x-gear.
Things I gave up:
Cruise control
Leather seats
sunroof
Steering controls
Things I gained:
A boot where I sat with my sun today while he played around me (it was closed)
Clearance
A bigger space inside.
Bear in Mind am a rep and work in my car.
as for blue tooth. Yes nice but I got my hands free 6 years ago and it still works great. cost me 595 rand so way add that as an extra at great expense to the car.
Sat nav:
Tom tom or garmin. Cheaper and can change them between cars.
