Urgent help pls.... blue smoke

Hi guys I need some advise urgently pls.

About 2 months back I did an oil service on my car. the guy at the spare shop didnt have castrol oil so and said that Shell helix oil 10w40 should work fine. I've been running the car with it since, but about a week ago I noticed that on idle and pull off theres alittle blue smoke coming from the tail pipes. It doesnt smoke when i start the car, just when the engine warms up

The car runs perfectly, just the smoke. It doesnt smoke too bad but the thought of it smoking up is bugging me.

I've read that it could be the ccv(oil separator) or valve stem seals. But before I go down that road i'd like to know if a simple oil change with the correct oil would do the trick.

What is the recommended oil to use on my car?
Its a 2004 318ti (compact)

Thanks guys

Valve stem seals are a common problem on these 318i engines.

If the oil separator is blocked then the pressure will be building up, open the oil cap with the engine running and see if there is positive pressure building in the cam cover.

Thank you for the replies

I noticed that when opening the oil cap there is some pressure pushing upward but not too heavy. Hoping its the ccv and not anything major like seals and piston rings. The car runs 100% just the smoke
Do you guys know how much the ccv replacement costs or maybe if you can recommend a good mechanic in the randburg or even alberton area?
