You should really post some more pics of the car :inlove:

Really? I thought I'd posted too many - comes off a bit "showy"... but if you're serious I'm sure I can post some more!

Congrads on the covertible....now you must consider a mod called "smartop". I got one for my E93 335.

Interesting... that thing is quite useful, but I estimate local prices must be close to 5 grand? Not completely sure it's worth that much... especially since opening/closing the top while driving at up to 40km/hr is something I really want and will use, but might lead to damage to the (what I believe to be) finnicky/sensitive roof.

At the moment I can remotely open the roof/windows... I must admit it would be very cool to be able to remotely close it all and do everything via one-touch buttons.

Thanks... will think about it, are their local suppliers or did you import?

Thread revive!

The M3 Vert has been awesome, but I'm getting older, the car is getting older, and the rattles have started getting a bit more irritating (when the roof is down, the car is amazing, when up I don't think BMW did enough in terms of insulation or build-quality to make a hard-top the right option).

So, now I'm looking at a new 435i M Sport Pack... my only problem is, at over R700k, I'm not convinced that it is an upgrade.

And go!

I'm interested to hear what you've decided. I also think the 435 at R700k is a bit much. I'm thinking of spending a little more and getting a competition pack e92 M3.

ill go with paul phoenix ... get a M3 coupe ... 435i at R700k is verrrry expensive .... nothing totally new in the engine department of that 435i ... unless im very mistaken

Thanks guys, I think I reached the same decision…

I said no to the 435i despite a decent discount being offered. But I just don't believe it is either an upgrade or worth that much money.

But every time I see one I reconsider!

The engine/outputs are unchanged at 225kw and 400nm… which is disappointing as the same engine in the 135i & 235i & 640i all output 245kw and 450nm - now if BMW matched those figures in the 435i then it might be worth taking a serious look at it.

I'm now looking at a used 640d or 640i instead… otherwise I'm rather going to go for a used Audi RS5 or a new S5

I will admit that the refinement and comfort in the new 435i is a decent step up from the E90 range, and moving to the 8-speed Sports Autobox is very appealing!

I want to drive these newe models with the 8 speed box. Im sure the car is quicker but from a driving persepctive there is nothing worse than being in and out of a gear all the time especially in these turbo cars that only rev to like 5 or 6k.

How much discount where you offered, if I may ask?

R32,000 without asking.
By the end of the negotiating they were willing to do R40k - which surprised me quite a lot!

No surprise, they need to sell...
Was contacted by BMW saying they will trade my 335 for a 435.... and I didn't even ask...:flyfun:

Our fleet 335i coupe is a late model 2006 - if they offered a reasonable trade-in I might actually have been swayed - but they won't do good trade-in AND good discount. One or the other only.

They offered me R310 000 but I would only trade for an M...I dont see the logic in buying another car that makes the same power...if it was 265 kw or more then yes ya...thats an upgrade...
