Tyre Shopping - Continental Sport Contact 5

So the dealer I bought my car from was gonna put new tyres on the car. I asked which and they told me Accelerra... Something like that.

I don't believe in budget tyres, let alone on a high performance car. I paid in the difference and got Continental Sport Contact 5. Pure bliss!

Always been a conti fan.

Those Accelera things are terrible and dangerous, so good work on not going with those. The Conti's don't look bad. I've just had bad experiences with them on previous cars.

How much did they charge you btw? Cos I'm looking.

The Conti's were about R20k for the set... I paid in R6500 which was the difference.
Main Reef tyres in Nigel sells Conti's and Michelin for R18500. I checked there about 2 weeks ago. They are by far the cheapest tyre place around.

I've never found a place that can better their prices.

Minty's quoted me R3300 for the fronts in Conti 5 and R3620 for the rears. But at R6500, you can't go wrong!!

That's an excellent price that. I've been running Continentals for a while now since when I had a Focus ST. I've used the Conti Sport 2,3 and now 5.

Also running the same in my zed. So far so good.

How have the Conti's been? I may opt to go for those instead of the one's I am looking at getting, if you're happy with them. So I am looking for a reference basically :roflol:

There's no problem of road noise at all for me. Drove with them on Saturday in the heavy Joburg storm and I was more than impressed with the road holding. I never suffered any traction loss and enjoyed the excellent grip.

They really offer a smooth ride.

You can't go wrong in my opinion.

I just bought a set of Goodyear F1 Eagles now for R9800 for the set. Very chuffed.
Have those goodyears on my e90 if they're the assymetric 2s. They are AWESOME tyres. Go watch the ad for them on youtube.

They are the 2s. I couldn't believe the price. I still asked the woman what the catch was. Lol. And I was going to get Kumho at R11000. So win.

What size tyres are they?

I was quoted about R14k for 2 x 265.30.19 and 2 x 235.35.19
