Best way to make your 320i faster:

Step 1. Sell your E90 320i, but keep the badge
Step 2. Buy any other E90, put 320i badge on it.
Step 3. ???
Step 4. Profit.

If your plans to boost the E90 320i means you dont intend on using it as a daily but rather as a project if so it would be better to sell it an buy a E36 328i or E46 328 or 330i and rather boost one of those as they could handle alot more than the small pot 2.0. As it is the E90 320i suffers with alot issues from valve stem seals and other components breaking around it would make no sense in spending 30 to 40k just to have "decent power" and even more unreliability

If you really really love your car and dont want to trade it in for something else i would look into motor swaps for example 2jz, 1jz or lexus V8 :coolShake:

Why spend 40k on 200kw when you can double of that for the same money with more reliability.

If you really wanted too. You could do a 1jz conversion. Which will be around 70k for a quality job

^And say goodbye to airconditioning, cruise control, traction control, ABS, fuel economy and resale value in fitting an old toyota engine. Great way to f*ck up a BMW if you ask me...

Honestly, who in their right mind would pay decent money to have their modern BMW downgraded to drive like an early 90's toyota?

I have to say I agree 100%
No conversion is ever 100% reliable. ..plus if the op sell his 320I and take some of the money intend to spend on a conversion he can by himself something way better.

Sell the 320 and buy a 335 .

335 ' s have bad resale values and can be picked up at bargains these days

And will be more efficient and more reliable than anything you wil attaempt to build .

And with an easy install piggy back like a Jb4 , can give even an E 92 M3 a hiding

Take it from somebody who's done things the wrong way before....

That old Toyota engine is way better than the crap that came in an E90 320I anyways :ty::roflol:

2JZ everything :cartel::cartel:

Yeah, also dont think the 320i's will last long with heavy mods. I've seen quiet a few with white exhaust smoke, probably with the owners trying to squeeze too much out of the little engine and heavy body.

May cost much more than a swap to a higher spec.

Its valve stem seal failure, quite common on those engines.
