Well after a lot of searching and research I have now managed to repair my 07 E83 X3's transfer case. Mine is the ATC 400, bought an ATC 700 ( newish X5)box from a scrap yard. Most of the internals are the same(clutch pack,activation fork, pump etc) If anyone has any problems with theirs, feel free to give me a shout. Its not my business but I'm will to share my new found knowledge with any one who's having problems, after all, 47k is a lot for a new one if it can be repaired for 1/3 of the price!!!
