Hi gents,

i need someone with a bit of wisdom to help me please.

the car to be traded:
e46 2003 face lift 318touring white with black leather. full house. everything works fine. 265k km on the clock

the car to be traded for:
1998 nissan sani 7seater 3.0 4x4 also full house. 280k km on the clock.

the reason for the trade: we need something with 7seats. and to have a 4x4 doesn hurt.

the sani is going for R49 900 and the guy is willing to give me R50k for the bmw. is this a fair trade or not.

any advise will be much appreciated.

oh and btw i only do about 400km per month so petrol not a worry(YET)

thanks

The sani is a bakkie with fiberglass roof and back.
It is also totally uncomfortable and archaic by comparison to your e46.

I would be most reluctant to trade for what is a large bakkie with a canopy and consumes 20L/100Km

I personally also think you are going to cry every night if you do this...keep the E46

Both vehicles have their pro's and cons when compared to each other.

I personally love a Nissan Sani as I grew up with one which belonged to my grandmother. It wasn't the 7 seater, but it was also a 3.0 liter V6 petrol guzzler with 2 x 60 liter tanks.

I actually think the Sani is really comfortable as no other van/car/bakkie offers that much leg room for the rear passengers as what the Sani offers.

I however would not recommend the Sani as they are still very high on the hot list as robbers like to use them to ram cash-in-transit vans off the road. My grandmother actually had 2 Sani's and both were stolen and recovered twice.

If 50k to 60k is your budget for a 7-seater, what about a Land Rover Discovery, 1995 to 2001 model?

Or VW Caravelle?

Or an old Pajero?

If you are not scared to get your hands dirty, pick up a high mileage X5 and throw some of the kids in the back .... Personally, I detest Jap/Chinese cars and could not conceive of a set of circumstances where I would voluntarily drive one on a regular basis ..... Also look at Ford Territory, old Range Rover or ...... Drum roll ....... Peugeot Super 7
