a little off topic, but arent trackers a good thing to have in SA? the number of cars that get stolen/hijacked there is insane.

why would you want to discontinue and remove it? as a genuine question

Most times when a car is stolen, they recover the tracking unit and not the car it was attached to. Used to think Tracker was a good thing but now... Not sooo much.

cheers guys, i see! so basically, its now just redundant tech... i.e they need to come up with a better solution for tracking stolen cars.

If a thief steals a car to keep the car as is for himself, chances are he won't find the tracker and there's a possibility of the car being recovered.

I wouldn't want it back at this point anyway...

However, cars stolen these days are mostly for parts. They strip out an entire vehicle and leave only the shell behind in a matter of a couple hours or less. There's no way a tracker will survive that, and the thieves are just laughing at you while ripping it out. They probably sell it back to the tracking companies, too.

I had a Toyota Corolla that had a tracker. It got stolen and recovered twice with the tracker. After it got stolen for the 3rd time, it was never found. Also had a tracker on a Polo 1.9 TDI. Car got stolen and was never found to this day. So, I'm not to convinced :fencelook:

did you get the money back guarantee reward?

Mine was fitted in the front crash bar. Really stealthy location I think.
