Those are nominal torque input figures..

George Smooth should be able to give accurate input - I seem to recall figures being bandied about of around 600-650 Nm max on the autobox, and 700-750 Nm on the manual... however, the stock clutch would be the weak point on a manual box.

The diffs are unlikely to cry uncle at those kind of torque figures - the gearbox would take the punishment and most likely break first..

Diffs get killed by running too hard for too long without a diff cooler, or when you slap semi's on the rear and wind up snapping sideshafts / breaking diff casings when launching like a savage.

Seems wierd that they could not be able to handle 600-700nm of torque easily?

so getting close to the 600nm figure you would have to start getting worried.
