To replace 320D or not?

I am considering replacing my 2001 320D with 191500km on the clock with a 2004/2005 320D (100k - 120k max).:thinker: My current 320D does not use a drop of oil and is mechanically and bodywise in superb condition. Why I am considering upgrading is because it still has the original clutch and all other normal wear and tear items. For instance, it is on it's 2nd set of brake liners! (I am a conservative driver AND I live in the Northern Cape, therefore no stop-start in traffic!)

My problem is: How much more mileage can I still get out of the old car and how will my maintenance costs escalate with more mileage? Would I get the same excellent service from the facelifted, more powerfull newer models? What would you guys do? Replace or not?

PS. I had a look at a few for sale and was mostly dissapointed with the overall condition of the cars on offer. Trade value for my car is ±R64500 and got offered R70000 on a trade-in.:thumbsup:

Johan jy is gelukkig om R70k te kry. Ek kan nou maar tussen R70 en R80k kry vir my 2003 320d met 160000km. My kar kom ook oorspronklik uit PMG uit en het sederdien net langpad gesien, so ek sal mik vir 250000km. Ek het ook my tweede stel brake pads opgesit op 150 000km! Ek het gehoor van mense wat 300-330 000 (foutlose) kilometers kry. Ek glo nie jy het rede tot kommer nie, so as die turbo of die injectors nie pla nie, dink mooi voor jy opgradeer.

Aan die anderkant van die munt: As jy inruil vir R70k, kan jy maklik 'n 2004 optel vir R110k. Nie 'n groot op-betaling nie, maar jy weet nie altyd wat jy kry met 'n tweedehandse diesel nie.

Dankie Hellas! Jy bevestig wat ek eintlik weet! Mens weet nie altyd wat jy koop nie maar weet wat jy het! Ek dink dit is meer n' geval van my g*t wat jeuk vir n' ander ryding. Sal maar sekere ligaamsdeel teen n doringdraad gaan skuur tot die gevoel verbygaan!

Ek laat diens nog steeds by BMW, so watter olie hulle ookal insit (indien enige...)

Ek weet wat help vir 'n gat wat jeuk: 'n onderbroek vol rooi stof... Waar op die myn is jy?

Ek het nov. n 325tds vir 10 onder mark prys, fsh, 190k op die klok. Enige plekke wat n goeie diens vir min bokke kan doen?
