Enjoy!

PS - Rolf, keep forgetting the Dyno sheet. Anyways, a few more performance changes in the pipeline so will get a more up to date sheet sooner or later.

Nice pics.

Read some of the earlier posts regarding WMI.

I would'nt recommend going WMI for a daily drive.

If something fails in the system you can kiss your motor goodbye in a second.

Ive been running the AEM WMI system on my car for a while now and unless you install competent fail safes like boost cut or retard timing under error codes its very risky and a hassle to monitor. My boost safe runs to my standalone ECU so I dont know how you would wire this with a stock ECU unless you go and buy the failsafe system which is pricey and do you want a massive gauge on your dash?

My meth pipe blew off the back of the nozzle under high boost.Lucky i managed to save my motor! ANother mate ran out of meth on the track and blew his K20 motor also cause didnt have proper failsafes.

Meth is basically a chemical intercooler. It does work and allow you to run more timing due to the cooling properties and the increased octane the meth offers but its not for every average Joe who wants to go faster.

Use it with great caution

Specifically interested in the current ones.... the updated ones you can post later then :=):

Write it down please or make a knot in your handkerchief so you won't forget tomorrow

Yeah, i know exactly what you saying. A huge concern of mine.

But, there is a 330d that is running WMI and he has it set to "ON and OFF". Its either On, or Off. Check the Speed and Sound mag from a month or 2 back, there is a full feature on the car.

Yes you can do it that way. Still doesnt guarantee anything under high boost when its activated unless you have proper failsafes.Normally you set the meth to spray only under high boost. Mine sprays from like 8psi.

Sweet, thanks for the advice. With these concerns, im not certain i would do this as yet. Still got a lot of research to consider.

Meth is basically a chemical intercooler.

Let me explain what actually happens when you use "Meth"

Meth = Methanol

Methanol, also known as methyl alcohol, wood alcohol, wood naphtha or wood spirits, is a chemical with the formula CH3OH (often abbreviated MeOH). It is the simplest alcohol, and is a light, volatile, colorless, flammable liquid with a distinctive odor very similar to, but slightly sweeter than, ethanol (drinking alcohol).[4] At room temperature, it is a polar liquid, and is used as an antifreeze, solvent, fuel, and as a denaturant for ethanol. It is also used for producing biodiesel via transesterification reaction.

Methanol is produced naturally in the anaerobic metabolism of many varieties of bacteria, and is ubiquitous in the environment. As a result, there is a small fraction of methanol vapor in the atmosphere. Over the course of several days, atmospheric methanol is oxidized with the help of sunlight to carbon dioxide and water.

Methanol burns in air, forming carbon dioxide and water:
2 CH3OH + 3 O2 → 2 CO2 + 4 H2O
Because of its toxic properties, methanol is frequently used as a denaturant additive for ethanol manufactured for industrial uses — this addition of methanol exempts industrial ethanol from liquor excise taxation. Methanol is often called wood alcohol because it was once produced chiefly as a byproduct of the destructive distillation of wood.

Now thats for the chemical part of the story..... now to the automotive part!
To evaporate any liquid you need energy. If you spray liquid Meth into your intake the environmental temperature will drop because the Meth "draws" energy from the air to evaporate.
Here is your first cooling effect!

Then the party starts again as your now Meth gas enters your combustion chamber and gets burned with your (hot) compressed mixture of fuel and air.
As you can see from above chemical formula water will be a result of the "chemical reaction" when burning your Meth in the combustion chamber...... and water doesn't wanna burn so it actually cools your "flame" down so you can boost your engine even more which again results in mor power

You can speak to me anytime regaridng WMI, but best advice is from teh top tuners. Its funny that alot of them refuse to go WMI.

My car was in the SNS in the month following that feature with the bmw diesel I think.March IIRC.The S2000.

sHOT,

Im selling now. Looking at a LCI 330d for daily.

IMO best compromise of performance vs fuel economy around!Your numbers are very encouraging to me. I wonder with that power and torque how u would run against the stock E9X M3 robot to robot.

i Will prob do software. Just contemplating how Im going to get around losing my motorplan/warranty as I want to retain that.

Would be keen to try a Stock M3.

Dude, you have no idea how enjoyable this car is. If you in the JHB area, we could meet and chat and possibly go for a drive. Currently, with sitting in a bit of traffic i average 8.7l/100km. This is with mixed hi-way, suburbs and traffic driving styles. And, i dont have a light foot. I see the traction light flash constantly.

Ya Im super impressed.

Doesnt the stock M3 push around 190wkw. I think with the extra torque you could have them up here at altitude robot to robot. So thats bloody quick man and you dont have to open your wallet to refuel half as often.lol
TALK ABOUT A WIN WIN.:joy:

I might take you up on that offer bro for sure.Im iin the fourways area.

Yeah, im on 181wkw. So not too far off. But mine is Auto. M3's in DCT are freaking quick. Auto box does hold me back as the shifts are slow.

Cool, im in the Randburg area during the day, maybe we can meet up during lunch somewhere between the 2 of us. Email me on [email protected]. We can chat there.

I would like to go for a spin in the S2k also, but you have to hit vtec atleast 5 times. :blab:
