When should the the timing chain be changed on the m43 engin

verry funny what is bmw recomended time chain repalcement intervils

BMW says the timing chain will last as long as the engine (they might have it backwards, though). There is consequently no service interval for this item.

Only if it bothers you. I guess replacing the guides/tensioners will solve the problem with much less hassle. I doubt it would break. Whats the mileage?

220000 km and motor perfect besids disa value @ the slealership R1800.00

replace it when u can lift it more than 8mm throug the oil cap and hope that ur tencioner is still working

Just replace the tensioner, to replace the chain is much bigger job.
