Thoughts on the G02 X4 or G05 X5

Hope al is going well :smilebounce:
Can I get some opinions on the new X4.. What do you guys think? Something about it just works for me.. But I am checking pricing.. I know the X5 is still a contentious beast due to that grill, I myself I am not sure about the front. But both actually look damn good from the rear..

I have never owned a X, but driving through the resort we are at yesterday and once again hitting my splitters to kingdome come :rage: really makes me itch for an X..

I plan on keeping my 335i as it has a lot of sentimental value, so the X will be more for my primary car/wife to use/take on holiday..

Will I kick myself for buying a newish X4 and then in a years time when the X5 prices drop I wish I rather bought one of those.. I won't pay more than 900k-1bar so newish 2nd hand works for me I could see a G02 X4 for 820k at present.

Cars in question:

G02 X4 2.0d (now)
G05 X5 3.0d (in a year's time..)

What you guys think.. I feel I will go drive the Xs when I am back in Jozi and see..

I'd wait and get the X5...

Has a lot more presence... and 3.0d over 2.0d all day everyday

Honestly if you look at the new X3 it is a very very well rounded shape and something to consider and will be more practical than the X4 , the X5 will always be more premium and as for the X4 I honestly feel a Mercedes GLC coupe looks better.

I'd wait for the X5 or look at an X3 - the X4's trade terribly and you will take a knock if you try getting out of one.

Car Mag tested the X4 2.0d recently.
They felt it was underpowered for the price, against its rivals.
Maybe rather look for a demo X3 3.0d (with spare wheel option ticked).

I am thinking the 3.0d is the one to have, will have a look at the X3, it actually looks very good in that midnight blue I have seen it in! :smilebounce:

Gonna b tough to be that X3 3.0d... very well balanced.
Test drive both X5 and X3 back to back.
I'm sure you'll b sold on the X3... I know I would

Had the x3 35i and two x5's 3.0d, oh and the older 2.0d and 3.0d x3's.

For dunedriving ill take the x3 35i just for the engine sound but for economy and comfort the x5. testdrove the x4 for a weekend in the dunes and highway but found the roof etc too low slung

Next one will most prob be an 50d x5

F15 X5 for the win. For me it's the best looking BMW out there. To me the new X5 looks like a Kia from the rear.

For a bar, I would definitely go for the X3 M40i, test drove 1 at auto bavaria and the thing is loads of fun, drives better than the previous gen X5. The car had about 4000km. My wife likes the X4, but the X3 look was better IMO.

I would definitely rather look at the x30 m40i or 3.0d. It has more than enough space for most families and looks great.

The 2.0d x3/x4 is gutless IMO.
