There is some serious over idolizing of E30's going on in SA, some people need to just get real.
I've owned several E30's over the years, now come on guys.
Some of them are really nice but R140K is totally chancing it I don't care how nice it is, it's still a 20 something year old E30
They are not that flippin rare, they made millions of em.
Just look at my old 325is evo II still for sale at R140K by 45 Cars, what a lot of KAK! I sold it because the chassis was cracking and it was begining to rust, even though it still looked really good. It had become an OLD car, and I wasn't willing to totally refurb it for the price of an E36 M3, now the guy who bought it, drove the shit out of it is trying to sell it for the price of an E39 M5.
I honestly don't care how rare some E30's are they are now very old tech..., classic maybe, but still old tech.
Who in their right mind would pay R140K for a "classic" that would need at least another 50K spent on it to be "New" again.
I really want an 850ci, You can get them all over the UK for like R15000 to R45000 maximum. Now in Capetown the same thing sells for R250000 to R350000
FAKE value, I can fully import a clean example at under R100K landed duites and all and make myself a quick R200K profit off some doff South Africa buyer (I'm South African BTW)....... That's exactly what this Einstein is trying to do with his stupid convertable E30
