Following on the success of our annual event in 2014 and 2015 to the picturesque town of Clarens and the beautiful Golden Gate National Park, planning for the 2016 event has begun in earnest to make it a bigger, more unforgettable event that we bring to you.
With the spectacular mountain passes, breath taking views and amazing company, Clarens has been chosen again, for this year’s TheFanatics Weekend Away. This year, we going to spend two nights at the Golden Gate Hotel…

Weekend Away 2014 and 2015 were major successes with the Durban Fanatics reigning supreme with a majority attendance compared to Gauteng. This year, (the third time) the challenge has been put forward to Gauteng to show them Durban folk how to start a party weekend away, in Jozi style...
This year, we have block booked 20 chalets.
Pricing for accommodation is as follows:
2 sleeper for 2 nights @ R2100 including the community fee
4 sleeper for 2 night @ R3250 including the community fee
***Please note a conservation fee of R40 per person per booking is also payable but not included in the price***
Prices are subject to change as per Golden Gate Hotel bookings team.

How to join?
Send an email to [email protected] with the following information:
1. Number of guests attending
2. Names of each guest
3. Your forum Username
We will send you an info pack with details. Make your payment, send us your proof of payment and we will allocate a chalet to you. As we receive proof of payments, we will confirm with the hotel and create a list of confirmed attendees.
Facilities at Golden Gates Hotel:
Self catering chalets
1 Double and 2 Single beds per chalet - Please note this if you are sleeping 4 per chalet.
Each chalet has braai facility - Non-halaal
Clarens Town is about 20 minutes from the hotel.
We suggest you carry along the ffg:
Food
Drinks
Snacks
Charcoal & Fire Lighters (If you are braaing)

NB:This is a family safe event.
Convoy details:
Follow the rules of the road
Convoy times and departure points will be discussed with confirmed attendees, closer to the event.
Being a weekday, we may stagger the departure times in groups.

Noise Levels - The place is so calm, keep the noise to a low level. There will be other people staying at the hotel as well.
Do not break anything, if you do, you have to pay for it.
