As I sit here downloading a map update for and LCI M140i...so the chapter on the car featured in this thread comes to a close. Don't really know how to bring this thread to a close...but a few words...

3 years ago I joined the forum and started asking for advice on purchasing my first BMW. Long story short, I took the advice I received and got in to an LCI 320d M Sport. I put 70 000km on the car. It took my family and I on multiple holidays, 3 of them to the coast, I had plenty of fun with the car, won a few dices and lost a few lol. I went through 3 different styles of rims and did my first novice DIY detail on the car. I went from super conservative to learning a downpipe and a tune from a reputable company is actually not necessarily reckless or the likes. I spent soooo many hours in and around the car. Did so many upgrades and spent good money on good maintenance. I also learnt servicing a car out of motorplan at BMW is actually affordable. The car was a great balance between fuel economy and power - the other conveniences and importantly safety - came along as standard. Mineral grey...in my opinion the BEST colour on a BM - not saying other colours are not great - but to me just not the very best. I got endless compliments on the car (even if it was 'only' a 320d) - no matter which province I was in. The B47 - what a great motor. Look after it and it will last - wait for it to warm up, service it every 10 000km, service the gearbox and you should be good. Not a days issue on the car. Sold at 160 000km.

I documented pretty much everything in this thread - feel free to do research if you go down this route with an F30 diesel. Hope it helps someone. Thanks to everyone that chipped in with advice and guidance on this journey. I'll always treasure it.

How did I know I bought the right car (besides for the aforementioned)...well after 3 years I still looked back at the car every time I parked it and walked off...every time.

Please don't judge me...but I ended up selling the car on weelee. I ended up a little pressed for time due to logistics and it worked well for me. Car was sold, done and dusted within a day. I wanted the car to go to another fanatic but chatting to a fellow fanatic I was reminded that not everyone will look after it the way I did...fanatic or not.

Anyway...it was really sad seeing the car go. Hoping it gets looked after - but that will be up to the new owner. I did my bit. Now on to the next chapter...new thread loading!
