The Perfect Roadtrip

I was thinking of where I would take my new car on her maiden trip.

I want to do a one day trip with one tank of fuel. I live in the Western Cape, so I went on Google Maps and compiled this road trip: https://goo.gl/maps/hiOct

360km, 6 Mountain passes :D

I wanted to include Mitchell's Pass on the R46 towards Ceres, as well as the Gydo Pass on the R303 North of PA Hamlet, but I don't think I will be able to make 1 tank of fuel then - specially after some spirited driving!

Looks Epic.

What car?

Still window shopping. I went to look at a mint '06 B7 RS4 with 50k on the ODO the other day. That should be fun though the passes. If it's not an RS4, it would probably be an X35 of sorts or..... an E39 M5 :D

Still waiting to get enough posts to be allowed to make a "wanted'' thread.

Looks like a good route. Helshoogte and Franshoek passes are by far the best. Helshoogte is short, but has great fast corners. The stretch from Rooi Els to Stand is the best road I have ever found/driven. Try get it early in the morning as it sucks to get caught behind some slowers drivers. Its about 15kms as driving bliss, fast straights into tight corners, fast corners, it has it all.
