...just me but it's getting harder for me to like these new beemers, and now this whole 4 cylinder business...

Maybe I'm just old school but I grew on a diet of M20s, M30s, M50s...it's that era that got me hooked on BMs and the M52, M54 continued that lineage nicely for me. Never thought I'd see the day when an x28i would be a forcefed I4...

+1 I share your sentiments, always loved the M52 and the likes, but the good part is that those motors will eventually (if not already) become classics in their own right, the raw power of the E30 and E36 I6 line - up was just superb.

For sure!

...this is all sounding rather Audi-esque...:fencelook::fencelook:

Even if they use Audi ideas, you can always rely on BMW to perfect the idea, especially when it comes to customer service and mechanics. Audi are desperately pathetic in this area. Take this from someone who has driven 2x Audis in the past 4 years.

BMW just need to work a bit on the "looks" of some of their models. Bangle bungled things up and they have been struggling to recover ever since imo!

This is from Bimmerpost, shows a pretty good rendering of what the F30 is supposed to look like, based on spyshots of camo'd cars, the recent spyshots revealed front and info from an insider

I really don't know whether I like it or not, but will probably buy it for it's performance. I was hoping they would bring out something abit more sportier looking.

I actually like the shape of the new C-Class. Pity it doesn't come with a BMW badge.

 why???? :sorry: but this is unnacceptable! and i thought BMW was the last purist manufacturer... the 3 series has now lost it's appeal.

:inlove: but i kinda love the new 5 series, but only the 5 series especially in monte carlo blue :bravo:

anyhow... was never gona buy one of these newer models anyway. I'm working on getting me an E30, :praise: the bestest beemer ever

but I also have love & respect for anything up to & inlcuding the e46.

when i  I dream about a white e60 M5...:inlove:

BMW & Customer Service :roflol: thats like Water & Oil

IMHO the e36 is the most sportiest looking bmw made, maybe because its the lowest cars to come out of the factory

The e46 got that subtle sport look, I might consider getting one in the near future

And after that no more BMW's.....

I had a look at the new 1 series F20 specs and i see that the 118i is said to deliver 125kw.

From past experience, we have seen that the next model up, 120i should be rated a bit more powerful. Thus, the new 320i (if there is going to be one) will be also higher rated than the new 118i (125kW).

Which leads me to believe that we are looking at about 130 - 135kw for the 320i.

It can't be called the 323i because the current E90 323i already has 140kW!

Who agrees?

Render looks ok - would assume that that's the non-sport model. Will have to reserve final judgement until the official release and hold thumbs for a good looking 3 series.

Nah, no thanks.

Looks like we will be keeping our E46's for another 6 or so years. Not a bad thing, I think the E46 is one of the best looking cars out there. Ticks all the boxes.

Cant say I like the F30 yet - images seen so far not that impressive. If it is anything like the E90 interior then :yuck:

The E90 does have some nice lines but that interior :yuck::yuck::yuck:

E46 is still arguably the best looking 3 series as it combines a sporty yet classy look that suits any occassion. The E36 is also a good looker but more sporty and less classy.

By the way, did I tell you guys the E90 interior is :yuck::yuck::yuck:

:biglol:

@PrevanP - The one thing I think BMW did improve on was the interior. The new 1 series interior is quite nice, a definite improvement over the last model. I can't see them going wrong with the new 3 series interior...the old one was definitely too bland for my liking.

I used to see nothing positive in the E90 (safety things aside) but after sitting in a 320i and later test driving one I changed my mind. Anyway, I'm hoping for price drops in the E90 325i and 330i after the F30's arrival.
