Those round vents in the Mercs these days really ruin it. It's something that belongs in a Ford Fiesta.

I like both cars , What I like about the Benz , with the exception of those round air vents , What I like about the benz is that everything flows in a sort of wave like uniform whimsical pattern . It just "feels" very rich and expensive to sit inside . (With the exception of those air vents) Like a comfortable beautiful main lounge .

The BMW on the other hand , has a sort of "High Tech Lux/sporty" look , not as flowy but full of richness in its details , Sort of like a TV lounge , filled with tech and toys while providing you with enough comfort to play.

I would be torn between the two to be honest , I have always admired the comfort and ride quality of a Benz E class and I love the dynamics of a BMW .

No Benz is as comfortable as a BMW. A Mercedes spokesperson once said that something Mercedes can learn from BMW is comfort. I suppose though I'm speaking about older models as I am yet to climb into the latest plastic on the roads.

As I've said, I feel the new 5er is the most lazy design job ever done by BMW. Having said that, it is still light years ahead in terms of looks, compared to the organic thing Benz has adopted.

I have always ever found BMW old and new to give much harder , stiffer rides then a Benz , and the BMW got worst if they had Sport suspensions fitted. I remember back in the day when we purchased our W124 E320 , a relative had purchased an E34 540i as well , that E34 could run circles around our W124 in terms of handling and performance but couldn't touch the 124 in the ride comfort department . I always saw that as their trade off for both brands comfort over performance , performance over comfort .

I'm referring more to the comfort of the seats :=):

Suspension, yeah.... A Benz can glide.

I did. W221 S500.

F01 750Li was way better.

I've said it before, you're entitled to your wrong opinion :roflol:

It comes down to personal preference. To me the S-class has the look of pure elegance which BMW lacks, but I maintain the comfort in the 7er was better.

It amazes me that some fanatics will make such strong comments when they probably never driven both.
I own the new 7 and took the e220d for a very extensive test drive making use of much of the tech that was on offer.
I can not compare to the g30 but I am hoping they have improved it over the 7.
For me the e class has the elegance of an s class with the sportiness of the c.
(Have a look at some of the interior pics)
What was amazing was virtually no road noise and all the systems like semi autonomous driving really works like it should. (BTW the car I drove rode on 20" amg wheels).
For me buying a car in this class is not only about looks, but also about its safety and technological advancements.
I will have to wait to drive the g30 to really make a judgment between the two.
