The General's 8S Audi TT Coupe

Its me again.

As you all know, i recently underwent a process with the M6, and that has been subsequently traded-in, although i looked to remain int he BMW stable,. which i would of liked to have done, i searched for either an M235i or a 435i/420d, and although i came across a few, some were private sellers, and some were dealers not prepared to give me a good enough deal to let it go for that much of a loss.

I came across this 2017 Audi TT Coupe (8S chassis), im not too familiar with the options and line ups etc, and although this has a kit on, im not sure if its aftermarket, or part of the S-Line package.

I did the deal, and finalised everything pretty quickly, and took delivery. The car has 148 000km on the clock, very neat interior an exterior, apart from a few slight niggles, but nothing alarming.

So here she is:

The TT is extremely basic, with the only options on the car being the Alcantara sport seat option, the Bang & Olufsen, and i believe the navigation options ticked.
Its missing Parking sensors and a reverse camera which i believe is the Audi APS+ package.
Overall, the car drives very well, with exceptionally light steering, almost go kart like. Its a nice quaint and comfortable cabin to be in, and it covers the necessary bases just fine for what i need.

One thing i am definitely removing is the previous owners personal touch of..... :

Im just not into that way of life, haha.

The EA888 engine is pretty nippy, and it being the Gen3 variant, has had a lot of niggles ironed out, and delivers a very smooth drive, as does the S Tronic 6 speed gearbox, its not DCT quick, but does the job.
The car is 100% stock performance wise, still has the OEM exhaust and OEM Downpipe as well as OEM intake.

there are a host of modification options available for the car/engine, but, i am unsure if i am going down that road with this car. i may get the OBDEleven dongle and get some OEM+ coding done to personalise it, as well as get a hold of OEM reverse Camera and parking sensors retrofitted for the ease of life aspect.

Other than that, the car is... fine... lol. a few things i need to clean up, but what use is buying a perfect car right? where is the fun in that (im sure i said that about the M6 too at one point didnt i?)
Anyways, this is a thread to keep up with this particular journey, it will be a lot lighter in content i think as opposed to my other threads, but lets see how it goes, more aesthetically orientated than performance orientated.

Will get some more exterior and interior pics loaded in due course, and another platform to learn an figure out keeps me busy too i guess.

Congrats and welcome to the TT club.
Thanks man, yea i aw your Sig showing you have a TT too, ill probably make my way to the Audi forum at some point, i just find their forum so clunky and disorganised, but maybe coz i havent spent time there really, difficult to search and find info

Congrats!
Enjoy the Vrmmmpah life
What difference in car size and drive.

Dont forget to service the gearbox oil, and perhaps do a carbon clean.
Not sure if the cam follower issue was resolved on Gen 3's?

Lets see how long your last before a stage 2 is done :)

I still have my Audi Club t-shirt and jacket from 2013. Sadly, when I defected to BMW in 2017, the ACSA Club also fell apart 😆

The TT Mk3 is a decent car and I am sure it will give you some down-to-earth thrills until your next M car 👍

Congrats.
Love the TT shape, get yourself the OBD11 you wont be sorry - a lot of stuffies that you can tweak and play with.

Assuming you have Virtual Cockpit, that they came out std on them?
But get yourself a wireless Android/Carplay USB thingy that way you just climb in car and phone connects wireless and all done.

Thanks bud, yes the OBD11 is on the list of things to get to do some personlised coding.

With regards to AndroidAuto etc, i dont have it active, but, there is companies that offer software updates for the virtual cockpit, and also to activate carplay,. i see the car has Bluetooth, but also WiFi Connect, so will see whats that about.
In all fairness, i dont know if Android Auto/Apple Carplay is all hyped, never used it, in my opinion its just to mirror your deice on the screen and use the apps, like Waze or anything else on there, but i could be talking out my ass too, as i have no idea, currently i use the onboard satnav if i really need to, and spotify plays through my bluetooth, pretty seamless.

Congrats bud,
Every person who has an EA888 platform always swears to keep it stock or away from the natural bolt-ons unless they are 50 and over....

Downpipe, Stage 2 and Intake is the safest and most fun on these platform without going big and causing hassles.

You will love it and these TT's have a great exhaust note think due to the shorter exhaust length but they sound so good!
Wishing you many happy, safe and trouble-free kms ahead!

Congrats on the new ride Justin .

Wishing you many happy and trouble free kms with this one.

Having went from the 240 into the 8Y RS3 and now back into a 140, I can honestly tell you that you will definitely miss the M6 and BMW ownership overall and it would only be a matter of time until you find yourself back in a BM. But having read your thread and understanding how you felt in the end, it definitely was a logical decision to make.

I'm a big fan of the TT though, and this looks really awesome. It reminds me of what a baby R8 would look like.

All the best

Shem, so even though she admitted to the infidelity, broke off the relationship, and dutifully attended all couples' therapy sessions to show how committed she is to you, you still divorced the M6? ;)

Can't blame you man. Once the mirror has broken, all the glue in the world won't help.

Congrats on the new missus - I trust this one will behave ;)
