Anyone heard of these guys:

They are conveniently based quite close to me (in Midrand) and I want to take my 330i to them to do a gearbox oil change.

BTW, nothing wrong with my gearbox at 112 000 KM, but I figured I'd do it as a preventative measure, since BMW's "lifetime" gearbox oil is now 8 years old.

Anyone with experience with these guys???

Ive called these guys. They seem to be big time into land rovers and other 4x4 vehicles, however they do have lots of experience with BMW's.


they are RMI approved and work with all the warranty places like motorite, SA Warranties, and so on.


They were registered in 2005, but have 17 years of experience in the gearbox and related (clutches, transfer cases, diff), industry.


I dont know them, but I think that due the slippage im experiencing in my 330D, that im gonna give them a try. A complete recon on the gearbox comes in at R14820 incl. vat.


Sure, I know that cheaper is not always better, but Im gonna try them. Theyre small, so the overheads are lower, as are the running costs.

Questions to ask: (@XMAX - relating to the 5/330d)

1. Warranty? Don't accept anything less than 1 year.
2. What is a complete overhaul according to them? it should include:
* all clutchpacks
* valve body - if you want it to never break again, ask for a Sonnax rebuild VB or one with all the Sonnax kits fitted.
* oil pump/assembly - Also Sonnax kits if possible(they probably won't know what you are talking about)
* torque converter
* pistons
3. Ask them if they fit new solenoids + oil pressure regulator, they should replace the oil pressure regulator solenoid and the TCC lockup solenoid.
