The Family car

I was considering keeping one of the E46m3s as a family car for the baby. And as practical as it is a 4 door makes more sense.

Took the wife car shopping and this is what we drove back in

A 2009 Titanium silver E90 LCI 320d manual.

Spare keys. Full service history and to top it off invoices for them as well!

And I decided to clean it up a bit. Serviced it with shell helix ultra 5w40 full synthetic.

New air oil and pollen filter. Injector cleaner and getting over 1k kms per tank already.

Cleaned the maf and egr and all seems well.

Disinfected the interior and cleaned the exh tip with stainless/alu aircraft polish

Where do you get the Stainless/Alu polish from? Do you perhaps have a name for the product

I use a similar product that you can buy from Builders Warehouse. It’s called Sonax Metal Polish.

You can also try Autosol - it works very well.

Thx for the comments gents. I arranged it from our aircraft hangar at Denel.

Car is sitting on 200k kms. Rep long distance driving and the motor is still clean inside. Very happy with the condition and I know these motors are reliable so the mileage didnt put me off. Good history is worth its weight.

Good history is worth its weight.

Couldn't agree more and the interior is certainly not showing signs of high mileage

Congratulations! Nice job on the tip.

For those interested you can get metal polish from checkers/PnP ect. Brasso and Silvo Metal Polish. Been using them for many years, restores and keeps exhaust tips looking new.

Nice one Andy she looks really good, one would not say she has that many miles on her. Happy safe trouble free Kms with her.
