So Saturday morning I proceeded to install the instrumentation rings on the 540.
Thanks to the guys(you know who you are) who motivated me to do this.
Disassembly:
I could not get the gauges out without having to drop the steering rack.
To do this, you remove some of the trimmings and then you have two 13mm bolts. Loosen them and the entire unit drops down, just enough to give you the access you need.
Gauges out, four connectors at the back.
Remove 6 screws at the back of the cluster, and you end up with this.
The end result looks like this.
I think it looks awesome. (Caught myself taking a peek through the window whenever I walk past the car in the garage.
