The Black-Out Project

So after driving my Disco 4 for about 6 months, I decided that it needs a bit of personalising.

So I started this weekend with project Black-Out, what this means is that I will be turning all the silver interior trim matte black and doing the same to the front grille and side vents.

I did the exterior this past Saturday, here are my results:

This coming weekend I will be doing the air vents.

So I found a bit of free time last night to do a small bit of work on the interior, only managed to do the control surround and the start button housing:

Will try to do more in the coming days.

I wanna also do something similar to the and armrests, plastidip or carbon wrap, which is better, longer lasting and better looking?

I would say the wrap would be more durable

Wrap is the best option.

Apologies for those who can't see the exterior pics, I moved them to another folder and forgot to change the links.

Do you get n gloss black in the plastic dip ?

Or where in Pretoria can I wrap a Thule Roof Box ?

From what I know Plastidip is only a matte finish but I do believe they make a gloss finish overcoat.

The matte finished is a bit outdated, Probably best to just wrap it in gloss black

Have you seen the black edition Discovery 4 ?

It's a 25 year celebration model which I do like but when I parked mine next to one the matte looks better.

Managed to get a little more done last night: Shifter strip, terrain response dial and shifter surround. Will try to get the park brake cover off tonight.

The outside trim in black works with the contrast against the paint. Not sure about the interior though, imo its reminding me of an entry spec car with different shades of black as opposed to a more premium option that would have contrasting effects of aluminium, chrome, wood etc...as inserts.

If you like it, thats all that matters...:coolShake:
