I am sure Porsche Body Repair will sought you out and that your insurance will cover it (since the car is on Plan, they are obliged to use Porsche Centre repair).

Sorry to rub more salt, but even if the damage is minor, your car will get a label of "accident damage" on the Porsche system. When I sprayed my rear bumper after a minor scuff, I got that comment added to my car.

I would advise that you confirm the wording of the comments after the repair so that it does not tarnish your car's history when you need to sell in future.

Sorry bud, honestly cant see much damage from the pic you posted but just the frustration and inconvenience of the whole situation. Kudo's to you for the restraint and temperament you have shown .

Yep

The quality of driving since I got my license (less than 15yrs ago) is *materially* worse. Running red lights, weird lane changes. A part of me feels like it's part of a greater decline in mutual respect people have for one another. Oh well. I've always been so careful *especially* with this car so to be knocked when entirely stationary leaves an exceptionally sour taste in my mouth.

Mostly due to no consequences. Amazing how there's "nothing they can do" when a drunk driver causes an accident, yet ok to have dozens of officers manning roadblocks where soliciting is possible.

The cost of legal action also has an impact as well and the fact that if you are not insured yourself you will be out of pocket despite not being the party who caused the accident.
A young lady with her grandfathers car with an expired disc and no insurance drove into me a few years ago. Same scenario at a robot. They went back and forth with me till they went quiet. Legally getting the money back from them would have cost way more than the cost of repairs to my car. So I just decided to move on and get the bumper fixed and painted. So in essence no need for them to take any accountability.

Gotten the repair quote.

No mechanical damage, my main concern was that the exhaust may have been impacted and done any damage further up (god knows what an exhaust manifold on this thing costs!).

SADLY even though (to my eye) the diffuser damage was minimal, Porsche do not repair those. So it'll be repair and paint on the bumper and a brand new diffuser.

I'm trying my best to be sanguine about it - the one silver lining is that I'm getting them to option me a metallic GT4 badge this time, was a stupid (0 cost) mistake to not spec the car with a silver badge to match the wheels and other trims, but at least that can be corrected. Just cost me the price of a small holiday and my insurance the cost of a big holiday. #FML

Sorry to hear about the prang. On another note(pun intended) have you or are you considering opening the exhaust valves permanently? Ie you won’t get that closure of the valves between 3-4.5k rpm. I know Porsche will do this for you, without loss of warranty or plan.

I've got no mods planned. I don't mind pressing the button - TBH heading out in the early AM with the exhaust open on a cold start is *almost* comically loud, perhaps anti-socially so (I live in a small estate, so my neighbours will definitely hear it all!).

In the long-long term, I may eventually get some aftermarket wheels. But most likely that'll be 5-6yrs into the future at least. Maybe I'll do a custom gearknob as well. but that aside I have no intent or desire to alter the car really. It should be ready for collection at the end of this week - been a far too long wait. I'm obviously suitably excited!

SADLY the repair work simply wasn't up to standard, there was some small bubbling on the top surface of the bumper, and the fitment of the diffuser wasn't 100% aligned and they used what look like ancient fitting screws on the diffuser as well (or at least the 2 visible ones are unmatched, 1 very old, 1 maybe newer?). So it's going back this week to sort that all out. Become a huge headache to be honest. Extremely disappointed - surely PCT know that a GT4 buyer is going to be a pedant...

Yeah, this is part of what sucks a lot. Gladly the comment system is pretty comprehensive and the value isn't hit that badly (for reference there was a GT4 for sale around when I placed my order with a R250k comment on it and the pricing (to my mind) didn't reflect that. Unless there really is something mechanical broken I can't see this being a value detractor (it'd require somebody exceptionally anal otherwise I'd say!).

The comments on most cars these days are pointless (to me anyway). There are many cars that obviously have been repaired (usually badly enough that you can see it in pics) with no comments and others that are repaired by an approved centre/process but have the comments of whatever value. 250K can just be a bumper fender and door on some cars... BMW, Merc/Porsche whoever don't use it for anything other than to offer a lower trade value to the person trading it in. To the new buyer (in my experience anyway) they either say its a high spec car and already priced in OR that the comment doesn't matter at all since it was repaired properly and the fact that it is commented just confirms that it was repaired correctly (in one case the guy even said it would be better than the factory finish ).

So many cars are unroadworthy, so many drivers are simply ill equipped for the reality of confronting the roads as well. This is the 2nd time I've been rear ended at a red robot and I've been driving for just about 15yrs! Both times I was stationary in a queue and was bumped into from behind.
Albeit last time was far, far worse. Had pretty bad whiplash and was hit with enough force to hit the car ahead of me (car was a writeoff).

Happened on a Sunday morning as I was going out for a fun drive! Stupidity comes out to play 7 days a week, not 9-5

AND it's back. The paintwork looks far, far better done, the fitment and screws (new ones...) are all done properly.

I got a new black badge. It was their suggestion (maybe they just didn't have silver ones?!) but they said it'd keep it more stock and also, the black badge is more expensive. A potential "mod" in the future, that and a laminated wood gearknob - google it, are the only things I'd want to change. Hopefully I can take a little drive this weekend and stretch it's legs a bit.
