Sump gasket replacement on 2007 E90 320i

Hi Fanatics,

The E90 is slowly leaking oil from the sump gasket. BMW quoted almost 3k for replacement and while I understand that its a labour intensive task and the suspension needs to be loosened, I still find the pricing quite high.

Car is off motorplan and I really don't see the need to take the car to BMW anymore.

I would appreciate any pointers on who to use for the repair work in and around Joburg area?

I have previous experience with BW Auto and Autospot.

Thanks in advance.

Well I paid R2000 for an 318 e46 sump gascket replacemant at an BMW agent. If you dont have a lift I would not recomend it. It is a bit of a job for I was there while they did it. I wont charge less than 2k for the job.

Damn N46 engine got a reputation for oil leaks.
Had to change sump gasket, along with tappet cover and oil filter housing gaskets twice in 20k km:argh:

Once under motorplan and second time came to about R 5 000. Despite my protestatation to stealers why gaskets should fail in such a short space of time and distance, I still footed the bill.
