Hi guys,

So building on my previous thread, there seems to be mixed reviews about Powerflow in Edenvale. I have used TNT before and they did an excellent job, but that was over 9 years ago.

Looking for suggestions for the decat.

List from my head:
- TNT
- Viper
- Wildcat
- Cowley

Would also be keen to hear from the guys who had this done with similar engines...

Wildcat closed it's doors years ago.

Unlike power flow I have never seen TNT half-ass a job.

Really? Says a lot about my exhaust endeavours...

I used TNT for my a Ford I had, the did a full free flow from the engine... Really amazing work...

Why not use Ralf@Speedway?

Woudn't mind the trade

but

I am scared, my exhaust "man" is extremely good on the mechanical/welding side, but when any electrics are involved, ie sensors, computor stuff, then I also nervously hang around him, to ensure he doesn't mess up there.

I cannot afford any mess-ups, because of sensors/computors etc

I cannot comment on what is required on the originators vehicle, as without seeing the exact layout of what needs doing, where the sensors are and how to deal with them, I would rather watch to see where this thread is going

I want a decat on my wife's x3 too. Will take it to Ralf@Speedway as I was happy with the exhaust work I saw on Yuben's car. FYI decatting the x3 is way easier compared to e46 6cyl models as you have more space to work with.

Header design has better flow compared to e46 too.

Ok, so called TNT and they are fully booked until next year... I have to fix the exhaust as I will be taking it down to CT and there is a leak somewhere and I’m sure the cats are blocked and causing it...

I don’t have another choice but Powerflow in Edenvale or Ralf’s shop...

I would love to do the job, but will restrict the work done to the pure mechanical side/engineering/manufacturing side.

If there are electrical issues, such as software that needs to be updated, sensors that need to be deleted from the programming etc, then not in my shops ability

we can do it almost any time...no need for an appointment, only issue is possibly needing to order specialist items from either Viper or Cowley, so a two appointment process, 1st appointment is a visit "look-see" to determine what work is required, and if specialist components need to be ordered from Viper/Cowley
2nd visit...the actual work (possibly 5 hours job...maybe less depending on complexity of the job)

X3 3.0lt has pre cat oxygen sensors only, so its a simple case of cutting out the two cats in the headers and replace with straight pipe. There are also the 2 cats in the exhaust which need cutting out and replacing with 2 cowley freeflow boxes.
Its on my to-do list for the X3, Ralf I will give you a shout and bring it to you when Im ready.
