These things also have "wastegates"

hmm so it will just run rich till it can boost 6psi?

If you look at twin screw charger and centrifugal dyno graphs it is very obvious the centrifugal does not reach max boost in low rpm

Im just wondering if the ecu will be able to adjust to this?

Just to add i had the ecu mapped increase by about 10% before the SC was bolt on so I maybe OK will get a Car strapped down and see what the Co reading is.

Look.... get some CO readings done and THEN and only then we talk about what you need!

Will get that done in the new year thanks

Your unit is obviously not geared for early boost.
Change gear ratio so that the VF runns more rpm than now and you will see the change.
Most wastegates are static and set by some calibrated coil springs

What's the cost of bolting on a SC to an e46?

I was able to find a second hand one which was taken off because the car was sold and the buyer didn’t want it on the car. So i forked out R15000.00 Which is half the price if you import it your self

Good Price , was that for all the goodies?
Injectors , intake , pullies and SC ?
Did the unit come off the same Model Car ?

Thats less the the SC costs alone ....

It come of a e46 323 whihc i s a 2.5 l and yes it was for. ?.th..e completed kit

You lucky bigger :argh: my one is way more then that..... Good buy buddy

Surely the ECU cannot possibly deliver enough fuel for 6psi boost?? With oversized injectors I reckon your idle and part throttle will suffer.

If it was my engine I would go piggyback (like AEM/ Powermod) and larger injectors. Do it properly...

If you go lean under boost you'll be looking for a new engine...

Just my two cents...

Thanks i will get car strapped down and get the co reading before its good by engine. I will

100% but the OP has a standard VF kit so it will behave the same...

wont it run into surge if it spins too fast? im sure they would gear it to spin as fast as possible without surging to start with...

do you the ECU will be able to adjust to the boost of the standard kit if larger injectors are used so it can provide enough fuel?

No... it's common to do different "stage kits" like this

do you think the ECU will be able to adjust to the boost of the standard kit if larger injectors are used so it can provide enough fuel?

No... the ECU is not geared for boost!

lol Rolf now im confused 1st you say it may not need tuning now you say it does? or you unsure?

ether way guess the best would be to get some readings and see what is happening...

Exactly what I wrote!
To make it more understandable. the hardware can not handle boost

Is that clearer now?

social this is not social its important stuff  if we can just strap on a little boost and not worry about tuning it will be awesome... sure we can wait till tomorrow :)

Thanks mate you gave me a good idea just pulled out the INPA and check if i can see the o2 sensor

So now i can follow your idea and see if car runs lean
