Try project shift, talk to Steve 0846542475,

What was all done on your Build?
I see the sc, but did you change the airbox, injectors and all the other stuff that normally come in a Kit?

I'm just asking because I'm having my E46 M3 done by Dave at Alpine Developments in January 2013, We using my baby as the development car.....

Development car ? are Dave installing a SC on your M3 ?

The air intake (air box) was change to a K&N cone filter under the left hand wheel arch as supply by VF Engineering with the green injectors.

That's right Dave wants to put plug and play sc kits together for the M3 guys so he needs a car to do testing on and then figuring out how the unit will fit the car and what will all be included......

We looking at
  • belt driven supercharger
  • all pulleys and belts
  • cold air intake
  • air intake manifold
  • all brackets and hoses
  • intercooler and software

We not looking at engine internals at the moment because we not planning
To run to much boost, we should get about 500hp

Lets see, will keep everybody up to date,

O OK so you importing a kit or just the blower and make up the rest locally. Good luck with the project its nice to have the car sound completely different.

Expect to pay quite a bit, thats a ground up map and will require dyno time, egt's, CO readings as well as AFR readings.

Thanks so did i found out that it cost more for a software than what the hardware cost, how i which i had i carburetor on where i could just take out the jets and drill it bigger. Yes i know its not that easy as just drill hole but I'm just i little bit disappointed because the car will stand till my next ship arrives and it just seems to sink before it gets to me :biglol:

So is it so that if you dyno a car with a supercharger on the same make and capacity you should have a base map which is verily close and would only require a little adjustment?

I wouldn't be so worried about the expense of mapping the car. A supercharger on low boost has pretty linear behavior over the rev range so mapping it is not so hard. Try find a Unichip dealer or Dastek direct and I am sure they will be able to map it if your injectors are large enough.

I agree , the fueling on my Fortuner was pretty easy after we added a TRD Supercharger....... We had to go for a Perfect Power Chip in the end as the Unipower unit didn't have enough Lamda pickups ......
Correct Injectors goood map and its party time . :joy:

Gentlemen..... how about ggrobler getting some CO readings BEFORE some wild discussions about mapping flame up?

As George Smooth correctly posted, at such low boost the stock map at altitude might not even need alteration and increasing linear fuel intake by using bigger injectors will do the job!

What's the cost of bolting on a SC to an e46?

I was able to find a second hand one which was taken off because the car was sold and the buyer didn’t want it on the car. So i forked out R15000.00 Which is half the price if you import it your self

Good Price , was that for all the goodies?
Injectors , intake , pullies and SC ?
Did the unit come off the same Model Car ?

Thats less the the SC costs alone ....

is this true even though a centrifugal blower will build more boost at high RPM?

I had a tuner quote me I’m confused her you say minor increase in fuel and the tuner said the following now this doesn’t meet up with what you say :nonono: but I also had the same feeling I have installed bigger injectors and only boosting 6 psi

The Tuners e-mail qoute

I can map the car for you no problem. Generally our stage 3 files cost in the region of 7 - 10000. There is a lot of tuning involved. I will get an accurate cost.

Would you be able to come passed so that I can read your ecu in order to create a base file?

Guys is this a good price to pay for a small increase in fuel

Look.... get some CO readings done and THEN and only then we talk about what you need!
