As the topic goes. I am currently working but kinda getting gatvol of working for a boss. I do have a small honey pot but for the life of me can't think what to do. Please now don't ask me what I am good at :). I am a Jack of all trades and a master of some. My problem is if I look at it my biggest concern is paying for my kids (3) education. I need a nett in excess of 25000 to pay the bills monthly.

Any suggestions welcome. Please legit business only so pimping, bottle store and drug dealing are all out

Bud you have to spot a gap in the market, and fill it.

Spotting the gap is the hardest part.

Then, and this is something I have noticed in SA, make sure you are courteous to your customers, and you will already be better than 95% of the competition.

Think of something you can do from the comfort of your home, with tools you already have. Such as something you could do in the evenings from your PC.

Good luck with the search :=):

This is great - though also remember that nothing will make you huge money overnight - it has to be grown and cultivated.

Start with something that you can manage while still keeping your current job and grow it to a position where you're able to let your job go, in favour of your new pursuit.

Something skill driven is always great to start with, then begin to branch out from there.

Good luck bru! :coolshake:

depending on the nest egg you have - make it work for you while you try find something. ensure a percentage remains liquid but put the balance in a nice growth fund.

Things I have thought of: Mobile car wash like ecowash - Maybe start doing on weekends in ur spare time firstly and as demand grows you grow the business. Even a normal car wash in the right spot(need a bit of cash for this one). Interesting thread so gonna subscribe :)

time horizons obviously dictate uncertainty and bring forth risk. stock markets are volatile but that is the precise nature of the game.

Structured products with fixed pay offs that are linear are much better receiving rates 10-11%. only downside is liquidity as your money is locked in for a fixed term-->5 years or more. the power of compounding on the variables above will equate to stable growth.

lol there is the issue of halaal so no compound interest for me. I will leave it in Gods hand and will do my best to make a success of it. I have been tested before without a job for seven months and I can certainly without a doubt say that what is meant for you cannot go to someone else.

You'll make it somehow....I came to jhb back in 2005 with a car, the clothes on my back and R1500 in my pocket, hoping to make it in the big city...stayed till 2009, left again and now 1 August, ive been back for a year.year . where there's a will there's a way.

May i ask what structured products and why you recommend them over others?

Play the stock market? There are apparently online courses you can do. Risky, but if you dedicate your time to understanding it thoroughly the rewards could be good.

structured products like ETFs or money market funds. they're require 100k lump sums to initiate but your capital is protected and you have a variety of funds to invest with various equity linked profiles.

to have a balanced book of investment you want liquid and long term funding.
long term will hedge volatile liquidity while balancing your returns.

just my view as diversification is key.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do. I often go through this, pretty much on a weekly basis.

A number of years ago, I was in the fortunate position to have a nest egg and decided to make the jump. Took what I had as a hobby and my passion for anything automotive and started my own thing. Took me about a year to really get going and making some money out of it, but then circumstances forced a move back to SA and closed it down.

Working for a boss again and it really sucks.

Buy yourself a Chesanyama franchise. Myself and my brothers store opened in May and have made a net profit from month one! We already looking into options for the second store...

Requires at least half a bar which I am not in the position at the moment. As for ETFs, stock market etc capital would be stuck that is it is good for investment but I am looking for an income not investment.
