Scunick, what ever happened to your turbines?

they are safely in storage. For that e34 I also have a set of E39 M5 Mags as well... I am becoming a wheel whore:)

What's the errr location of this storage?

Purely for academic reasons of course. :fencelook::fencelook:

Ok so exactly how much cash would pry them from your hands? Everything has a price lol

IMHO, being an M5, and judging by your previous posts regarding your new baby, it has to be the turbines or the throwing stars. The turbines are my favourites, even though everyone binned them in the early nineties. They just look right on the car. Wish I could point you in the right direction to finding a set, but will keep my ears to the ground. Good luck!

throwing stars and turbines are the exact same rim just with different caps on, so u could get a set of throwing stars or turbines and just get whichever covers from BMW
Thanks for that bit of info :=):

So I eventually got these....... mmmmm too shiny I think, but it literally is all I could get to fit the car new or used anywhere in the entire damn country.

I was fitting the wheels in the drive and a gust of wind blew the left rear over, so somehow I managed to kerb a wheel before it was ever fitted to a car! It's bugging me, so I will make it the spare and replace the one.

I was thinking of either making the centres black or making them gunmetal grey?

Or do they look ok to you guys and I'm over sensitive about the shiny aspect?

That look pretty damn good, I would just go for super silver for the centre portion and leave the lip as it is now, but that is just me.

Edit: Too much contrast between the wheel and lip makes the wheels look tiny in my opinion.

The wheels definitely suit the car Rick! :bravo:
It looks awesome, i agree with the "too shiny" aspect though...

You could even go for the brushed look on the lip, but doing the whole wheel in stock silver I think will just look

Just had to look at this pic again

really got yourself a nice set of wheel, will really make the car stand out, while still looking OEM of the same period of the car.

The shiny silver rims on the white car somehow are not doing it for me....think you may be right about the stock silver.

nice going rick :bravo:

if you had said you wanted 17', i wouldve recommended these. when i had my original style5's they went through quite a few changes, once momo silver with polished lip, then anthracite centers with polished lip.

wish i never sold them:argh:

finding a low offset wheel is really a mission, i waited long before i got my perfect wheel for the E38, i went with Aline Stilletos in 19' 9.5j all round, now my biggest problem is tires, 255/40/19 and 285/35/19 @ R4500 each

wanted to fit the Aline Scorpions but they were to small in 17'

Rick, how much, and where'd you get them? PM if it's a trade secret. They are a bit on the shiny side, but it's not a train-smash. I'd get the centres done in shadow chrome, like the E39 M5 OEM wheels. Dunno if someone like Wheelworx can do that, though.

No trade secret lol they are A-Line Scorpions. I did battle to find as there is almost no stock in the country right now, but they will be getting more. The set is narrows/wides 8j front, 9j rear. They have the correct offset for the E34 with rear being 20mm and front 22mm

The basic shape of the wheel I think is really nice, a bit like BBS on roids, but I will definitly be experimenting with the color till I find something that works with this car.

Looks very nice! Sorry to hear about the wind blown over wheel! Photos are difficult to judge compared to seeing with one's own eyes, but personally I think the super-shiny silver is a bit too much for the look. I almost think normal flat silver with the lips still shiny would look amazing!

Car is looking stunning BTW! :)

After googling BBS choices I realise just how much these Scorpions look like BBS

Now for the colour change, lots of options, but which one?

Genuine BBS

Or this old school BBS look?

It's a white car I could even do a white inner wheel?

Looking at those pics I would say go for any of those, except the black or white, black will make the wheels looks small and white will make it look cheap, but that is just my opinion.

That rim with the grey centers (after the gold center rims) looks mighty nice ....think it will look good on a white car

Grey with the matt lips.

Remembers the uprated rear suspensions. This goes for Jandre's 540 too. Prostitutes are really not weight watchers these days :mmm:
