So this happened to my baby last night.
Was at my sisters place in Kenilworth(close to banana jam). Luckily the F'er only got my jacket that was on the floor in the back and nothing else. But he tramped poop all over my back seat.

Just a heads up to all the cape town guys....even if you live in a quiet area just be careful where u park your beloved

I used to live down there on baronrath road near the park past banana jam. It's where 3 sets of my wipers were stolen. There was only 1 smash and grab thay I'm aware of that happend in the 2 years I stayed there. And it was in between 2 blocks of flats. On a small road. These fers take chances.

why cant we just keep our own belongings, instead of unwillingly distribute them to %#$@@%^% !!

why cant people learn to keep their damn hands to themselves and off your property. I am not saying that what I did is right but I felt a whole lot better after I caught the guy breaking into my car. I beat him senseless for every other person that he also stole from. they need to learn that its not right to do this.

sorry buddy.. its not a nice thing

Well, this is why I never leave things of value in my car, and certainly not anything visible. If I have to leave anything in the car I rather put it in the boot or under a seat if possible. But these fsckers will still break in to a car to scratch around. Talking about the "poop" tramped on the seats, shows that these clowns are filthy bastids! Many many years ago my old Corolla and another car was broken into in our driveway, and the same thing, the fool had tramped some cr@p onto the carpet - it was greasy and wreaked!

Does anyone ever wonder what a partial solution at least, would be to this frustrating crime in our country?

It seems as the years go by, it gets more common, more expected and less is done by the powers that be to solve the problem!

So what happens, more business is created! Smash n grab, 'safe' parking lots, car guards, mostly self appointed (!), crime 'kingpins,' expensive repairs and so on and so on!

What a direction we are 'progressing' and 'developing' in! :nonono:

Coisman? Wat kan ons doen? Ek weet! SKIET DIE BLIKSEMS!

Ja well, it's like a school yard - if most of the school's staff and the principal are breaking rules in front of all the kids and not being a good example, what do you think most of the kids will do? Well, this is sadly what is happening to our beloved country, and it is getting worse sadly.

 Really sad to hear bud! But it seems that you have turned it into your next diy! Thumbs Good job on turning a bad experience into something positive... (Until you see the pricetag on the window -LOL)

On another note - the crime in this country is really getting out of control. I'm in the industry where we come across these car break-ins on a daily bases. and they range from forced entry i.e. door locks jammed or windows smashed on your older models and using jamming devices on the newer models. And what's whose is that in some cases the perp's where caught only to slip through the many cracks in our justice system and find their way back to our establishment...:nonono:

What to do... what to do...:nonono:

hey DJ.. did you manage to find a window. Try out AB BMW motor spares in Athlone behind the police station, they quite cheap and then the is CLiftons M3 spares in Maitland, which are also reasonably priced and then BMW place in Lansdowne, the owner is the guy that can tell you what is wrong with your M as you pulling into his driveway. The man is a legend. Him and uncle Achmat.. Legends

anyway, try those places out

happened to us at a shopping center here in Pretoria, smashed window out on the navara and stole my sons school case, and 100m away we found the security fast asleep, actually kicked him to wake him up as calling him and shaking him did not wake him up,this at 6:30pm at night.security company did an investigation and found he was part of a gang, all that happened is that he got fired.

saps did nothing as they said the case should've been locked in the boot, duh,no boot on a bakkie.

yesterday I witnessed a black begger steal from an old white begger at the robots, old guy is too slow, and the youngster just grabbed his stuff and ran in too oncoming traffic and disappeared.
also saw same youngster running away from a smash and grab at another robot in the area, woman in tears, handbag stolen,he is clever and runs in to on coming traffic to get away, always rush hour .all these events occurred with in 500m of the shopping center where our window was smashed, wonder if it is the same guy?maybe one day I will just accidently drive in to him:fencelook:

The security is usually involved. The whole metrorail cable vandalism thing here in cape town aswell. The security company was responsible. Where do u look for help if saps can't do anything. I won't even bother reporting this break in coz it's gonna cost me more in the long run with regards to insurance premiums going up etc. But thanks for the support guys. Sorry to stir such emotions lol

Here in GP, the guys that do this sort of thing are very brave as everywhere else, they do this on onramps and offramps within throwing distance of a parked metro car, issue is, those phuckers are so fat and useless and slow from all the bribes and kfc that they wouldn't do anything even if the guy smashed and grabbed their service pistol out from their holster.

As a matter of daily practice, I give anyone who walks past my car a deep stare when in traffic or stopped anywhere, as anyone could be a spotter.

This smash and grab is a lot more advanced than you think.

Yes, you get the odd guy who just takes a chance, but there are syndicates operating where you stop at one traffic light and a newspaper seller greets you while you are busy on your cell with the laptop in the front passenger footwell. 200m down the road, he whistles different whistles to notify the other 2 guys what colours of car to smash. you get down there and before you know it, its all over, and the guys just walk away.

I also never leave anything, absolutely anything visible in the car when its parked somewhere. Not even a R5 coin in an ashtray.

Your biggest weapon is awareness. I see too many people at traffic lights picking their noses while staring at the boot of the car in front of them, or women doing makeup, or people on their phones texting etc.

That deathstare I mentioned, tells anyone, "Hey, I saw you", I am not going to be taken by surprise. Even though if I am attacked, I WILL be surprised, but I am more of a risk, than the guy next to me with his window wide open and his music so loud that he cant even hear that his rear window has been smashed and they stole his kid from the car seat.

I think by now, we all know not to expect the police to do anything unless you are high up the foodchain. If you are Zumas son, and you get smashed and grabbed, you can bet they will catch the fokkers, for guys like me and you, going to the police station is more frustrating than the actual incident.

I am NOT saying that ALL cops are lazy, we have some sterling guys, but for the most part, our police force is untrained, impolite, lazy and overweight.

The last time I had a guy rear-end me, went to the police station, and the constable had purple painted nails and lipstick on, was busy on BBM while listening to another member of the public dictating for an affidavit.

I completed almost the whole form for an MVA (motor vehicle accident) when the fat cow says, oho, who said you can fill it in Blue Pen?

I almost clouted her over the counter. Innocent people are being murdered under your nose, and you want to irritate me over a Blue vs Black pen? And why didn't you tell me that, when you gave me the form and you saw me write my ID in BLUE Pen.

In South Africa, you have to look after yourself. The lawmakers don't give a shit, behind their bulletproof glass blue light brigades and gated communities.

If I had a gun license, I would be prepared to face the horrors of our legal system and real jail time if it meant that I could protect my family from harm.

I would shoot the intruder dead, if I saw him in the still of the night inside my house, and be prepared to go to jail for a long time.

These guys are now fearless, and even know that if you do carry a gun, the law tells you not to use it, because you might go to jail and the guy walks free.

My question is, at 2am in the night, with a balaclava over his head, an unlicensed firearm and a knife in possession, am I expected to believe the guy is coming to test my pools chlorine levels?

Fek no!

You even hear police commissioners come on radio after gang justice and say people must not take the law into their own hands. What?
Then do something, get off your fat arses and do something and then people will not burn/beat to death people suspected of being thieves/rapists/molesters/killers etc.

If the justice system worked we would not have crime. Too many people in the prisons? lethal injection all the murderers, and you will have plenty space for more guys. You cant say let them be electrocuted to death, because chances are Eskom will Load shed the prison while they are frying a murderer and it will become a human rights fiasco. The rights of the person he killed? Shem, sorry!

Freedom for killers and thieves. Justice for all? No way.
Justice for the rich and well connected only.

This is the South Africa we live in?

People are going to say, don't be negative, think of the positives, our coastline, our table mountain, our drinkable water.

You cant go to the beach without watching your belongings at every corner. Fek the coastline if I cant be safe to enjoy it.

Our table mountain is beautiful, but people get robbed on it, or raped on the mountain trails, Fek table mountain, ifI cant be safe when enjoying it.

Our water is clean enough to drink, not many countries can say that, but all of that means nothing when City of joburg adds 40k onto your bill, cant explain it, but threatens to cut supply if you don't pay, even though the lady on the phone will admit its probably an error.

I cant even type anymore, I worked myself up now!
