Stupid Question about Part Numbers

Hi Guys,

I know this is a really ignorant question to ask, but I just want to make sure I understand this correctly.

1) When I search for a part number on say, realOEM.com for a part, that part number is a reference to the part itself, not the part made by a specific manufacturer? E.g. Front Left Brake Disc has a part number of XXX-XX-XX, this part number will be used to describe the part regardless of who makes it (OEM or otherwise?) Is that correct?

2) realOEM - for SOuth African cars I assume we use RHD Euro spec?

Thanks
A

Put the last 7 digits of your VIN into realoem, it will then give you the correct parts for your specific car.

You're correct, the part number references the part, not the supplier.
